Speaker 1:

Careful, thank you for joining me on this journey. And thank you for joining me on this podcast. I'm Peter[inaudible]. I'm the lead pastor of the resurrection Houston church. I'm a lawyer here in the city of Houston, and I'm also a community advocate. A man, we started this podcast because I wanted to give people a window of the intersection of the gospel and community and how that can transform the quality of our lives in the here and the here. After I used to always hear these messages of the gospel that were very individualized, very about me and what would happen to me. And I began to understand that the gospel is always given to the we, and that there is this life together that God knits, and he does. And you're going to hear over and over again. So many different stories of the we in the gospel and how the gospel and community intersect both the community at large and the community of Christians, the focal passage, man, that really speaks to my heart that I think will encapsulate what I'm trying to say. And what I'm trying to bring is acts chapter two, verse 42 through 47. It says, and they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship to the breaking of bread and the prayers and are came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles and all who believe were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes. They received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people and the Lord added to their number day by day. Those who were being saved, yo, the power of the gospel in community. This is what this podcast is about. These first 10 episodes. You're going to hear from various leaders in the city and around the country. And we're going to be dealing together with the issue of where do we go from here? You do not want to miss this cause, but not only going to be sharing about where do we go from here, but they're going to be telling us about their lives and how their lives intersect with where do we go from here? So man, um, this, this issue of systemic racism, this issue of, uh, the lack of treatment of black and Brown here in the city, uh, and in our country, man, we want to deal with that. And then last but not least, man, I want you to understand and get perspectives from people all across the black and Brown spectrum and how they are applying the gospel in their lives and the lives of their community. So man, we're going to have a great, great, great time. Join us on a journey these first 10 again, uh, where do we go from here? And, uh, man, where do we go from here? Love you guys. Grace and peace from God, our father and Lord Jesus Christ. Join me on this journey.[inaudible].
